Our Cumberland Island 3-Day Trip is designed for the person that wants to see
Georgia’s largest barrier island from a very active perspective. We paddle 12 miles to the northernmost campsite, Brickhill Bluff- which faces the mainland and the setting sun. Brickhill Bluff is widely known to be an ancient Indian settlement and was subsequently the site of many historical working villages.
This bluff is the perfect staging point for our exploration of Cumberland’s north end. We camp underneath the oaks for two nights and paddle our route home on the last day. Our middle day is spent hiking the old trails past ruins of various commerce and settlement, traversing the levees over interior lakes, and finding tidal treasures on the 18 miles of totally undeveloped beach! This trip is suitable for beginners and
seasoned paddlers alike - but can sometimes be physically challenging due to weather conditions. We often recommend tandem kayaks on this trip due to tidal conditions. All meals, permits, kayaks, paddling and camping gear, and guides are provided - $350 |
